Zone control: heat only where you are

Most homes are heated as if everyone sits in every room all day. A single thermostat in the living room decides what happens throughout the house, while bedrooms and the home office often stand empty. With zone control that can be done far more intelligently.

1. How zone control works

You divide the home into zones, each with its own temperature and its own schedule. Every radiator or underfloor heating circuit gets a smart valve or a control in the manifold, and a central controller keeps the zones together. No breaking work is needed for this.

The controller talks to your heat pump or boiler so the flow temperature follows the actual demand for heat. With a heat pump that translates straight into efficiency: the lower the flow temperature can be, the higher the system's efficiency. So zone control makes your heat pump not only more comfortable but also cheaper to run.

3. What you notice in practice

It is more comfortable, because the bathroom is warm in the morning and the bedroom is not. And it shows on the bill, because you no longer heat rooms nobody uses.
